North Carolina Estate Planning Attorney
Robert Bartilucci
More than 20 years drafting wills and trusts and planning estates - on both the law-firm side and the wealth-planning side of a bank. It's the same experience the wealthy pay a premium for, brought to families like yours.
Based in Cary, he helps families from Apex to Raleigh and across the Triangle put the right plan in place - the kind that brings security and peace of mind for the generations to follow.
The work
Robert has spent his career on both sides of estate planning. As an associate attorney at a Raleigh firm, he drafted wills, trusts, and gifting strategies, handled probate, and built plans for families and business owners. As a Vice President and Regional Financial Planner at Wachovia, and later a Private Financial Planning Strategist at BB&T, he planned for high-net-worth families and business owners - modeling cash flows, structuring entities, and minimizing taxes.
That combination is unusual. He has seen the documents get drafted, and he has seen how they actually play out years later when a family needs them. It's the reason he can explain not just what a tool does, but whether you need it.
The approach
Two things he hears constantly: "my situation is simple" and "I don't really have much." Both usually turn out to be wrong. Nearly every family benefits from the certainty, privacy, and protection a trust provides - not just the wealthy or the complicated.
He has also been handed too many plans drafted by other attorneys and never explained, leaving people unsure what they even had in place. He works the opposite way: he learns how your family actually works, lays out your options in plain language, and builds something you understand. He's being trusted with the people and the assets a family spent a lifetime building, and he doesn't treat that lightly.
Roots in the Triangle
Robert grew up in northern New Jersey and met his wife at the University of Florida. They moved to North Carolina for law school at UNC Chapel Hill and never left. He went on to earn an LL.M. in Taxation from NYU and has carried the CFP designation for years.
He and his wife have been parishioners at St. Michael the Archangel in Cary for more than two decades, where they raised their three kids. He leads a committee in his son's Scout troop, sits as a judge for Capital Area Teen Court's diversionary program alongside his daughter, and belongs to the Knights of Columbus. He's on the leadership team for F3 Carpex, has finished the GoRuck Tough, and has run several ultramarathons - including a 100-miler.
